Saturday, April 5 10:00 a.m. Using Organics: Thinking of "going
green" in regards to your garden? Let Bill Sadler, PhD., of Bradfield
Organics help you help the environment while maintaining a
pet-and-people-safe garden, and remain economical as well. Dr. Sadler
will be able to answer your questions about organics as no one else
could, as Bradfield Organics is his brainchild.

Saturday, April 19 10:00 a.m. New and Improved Annuals: Vaughn
Fletcher, of McHutchison Horticultural Distributors, will present a seminar
on the new and improved varieties of annuals, as seen at assorted flower
field trials around the country. Mr. Fletcher's extensive travels left him
filled with ideas for colorful containers. You'll receive this information just
in time for your spring plantings. Be sure to take notes!

Thursday, April 24 6:30 p.m. Spring Herb Fling: "Parsley, sage,
rosemary and thyme"…remember that tune? Come tune up your taste
buds with Chef Margaret Wheeler, former owner of Golden Apple Café in
Cleveland, TN, with over 25 years experience, will teach you how to utilize
herbs in your cooking to enhance your favorite foods the natural, healthy,
non-caloric way so that the flavor bursts in your mouth! This is a
hands-on event, and there will be a $20.00 fee charged. Bring your
favorite apron and come savor and enjoy.

Thursday, May 1 6:00 p.m. Container Gardening: Do you prefer the
intense blue of Lobelia erinus 'Crystal Palace' paired with the crisp white
of Euphorbia 'Diamond Frost'? What does that particular pairing say
about you according to the Rules of Color? Internationally known
Francesc Casas, originally from Barcelona, Spain and currently working
with Frisella as a free-lance consultant and grower, will share the
meaning behind the pairings of certain combinations of colors of plants,
and how to use the Rules of Colors in your container gardening.

Saturday, May 3 10:00 a.m. Moles: Join us for an entertaining talk by
Jeff Holper, of Holper's Pest & Animal Solutions, and get the "hole story"
on moles and their roles in your garden! As always there will be some
discussion involving extermination. Please bring your own smelling salts if
you are faint of heart.

You Want to Know About Rain Gardens:
Cindy Gilberg will delve
deeply into this topic of major concern to all of us. Rain gardens provide a
natural alternative that serves as a solution to the serious issues related
to storm water runoff - erosion, water pollution and flooding. A
well-designed and planted rain garden not only addresses these issues,
but also provides beauty and wildlife habitat. They can also solve the
problem of what to do with saturated soils. Come, join in and learn how to
plan, plant and enjoy this style of gardening.

avid collector of over two hundred different varieties of conifers, Bruce
Buehrig is your information source for slow-growing and Dwarf conifers.
Bruce will inform you on the varieties that do best here in the area, which
ones love the shade, just what sizes to expect after ten years, and will
also touch on the newer forms in an area that is constantly being refined.

Saturday, June 7 10:00 a.m. Roses: Larry Meyers, a member of the
Rose Society of Greater St. Louis, will make an encore appearance as
our favorite rose expert, and will take away the mystery of how to succeed
with roses and leave you saying, "Yes, I can".



Saturday, June 14 10:00 a.m. Perennials: No one knows perennials
like Cindy Gilberg. She just completed six years serving on the Board of
Directors for the Perennial Plant Association, and owned as well as
managed Gilberg Perennial Farms for 28 years with her husband, Doug.
Cindy is quoted as saying, "Education is essential to the growth and
evolution of a gardener and their garden". Come and be educated by one
of the best!

many years of the West County Daylily Society and MBG Daylily
Association, and a Master Gardener as well, will address the different
forms, shapes, and color patterns of daylilies, including but not limited to

award-winning Tony Frisella will present the seminar on Landscape
Design. Tony is a second generation Frisella, is a member of the
Landscape and Nurserymen's Association and the Home Builder's
Association, to name just a few of his affiliations, and lends his own
unique touch to every design he creates. Tony has been most recently
featured in (and on the cover of) Builder News, February 2008 issue. He
will answer questions you may have on your most difficult landscaping
issues.

Saturday, September 6 10:00 a.m. Deer and Wildlife: Bothered by
pesky four-footed predators? Join Jeff Holper, of Holper's Pest & Animal
